$125 NLH Short Deck
Level 7: 200 Ante and 200 on the button
Total Entries: 109
Dylan Hortin is hoping that he runs as hot today as he did yesterday. Yesterday, he bagged a massive chip lead in Day 1A of the $600 no-limit hold’em main event, giving him a day off today. Well, sort of. Instead of relaxing by the pool, Hortin hopped into the first-ever no-limit hold’em short deck event in Run It Up history.
With level 7 nearing an end and registration closing at the conclusion of level 8, Hortin has grinded his original 10,000-chip starting stack up to 17,500, but has some quality poker opposition at his table. On his direct right is Team RIU ambassador Fintan Hand, who has over 40,000 already.
Hortin is no stranger to battling with some of the best. He’s got just shy of seven figures in live earnings and another $3.3 million online. Even at this series, he finished runner-up in the $125 win the button event, and had to battle with one of the game’s best mixed game players, Adam Owen, heads-up.
If he’s going to take down the short deck event, he’ll have to battle with some very talented players as the field is full of poker talent. Other notables in the field include Patrick Tardif, Jon Turner, Brian Sherrier, Jesse Capps and Jim Brundige.
The 28-year-old poker pro isn’t part of Team RIU, but does have a twitch channel of his own where he streams some of his online tournaments. But I don’t think short deck has made it onto the PokerStars software just yet.
Registration for the event will close shortly and the prize pool will be posted ASAP.
