Run It Up Reno VII is officially past the halfway mark of the series with the completion of Day 6 on Wednesday. With the Thursday Thrilla and the Main Event set to get underway on Thursday and Friday, Wednesday was all about letting off a little steam and having some fun.
There were two social events and two trophy events on the schedule. The $235 six-max 8-game got cards in the air at noon and it drew 185 entries. Joe Brindle took it down after defeating Chris Moneymaker heads-up. Brindle made the trip to Reno from England with his good friend and high-stakes poker pro Adam Owen.
Owen won the $125 win the button tournament on Tuesday and Brindle made sure that he wouldn’t be in the spotlight for too long by winning $8,155 and defeating that man that was a big part of the modern poker boom.

The $235 six-max 8-game was the most serious part of the day. The other event on the schedule was the $125 all in or fold. With only two options for your hand and lots of all in drama and sweats, it naturally brought out the drinks, the celebrations with the rail and all the fun.
Casey Jones, a dealer from Las Vegas, came up to Reno to work the event as a dealer. She got off her shift with enough time to spare to enter the event instead of deal it. She went heads-up against Haven Werner for and her aces held up against pocket sixes to take down the title. The rails were rowdy and there were celebrations after every pot.

There was just as much fun outside the tournament area on Wednesday. There was a huge turnout for the Survivor Watch Party with Tyson Apostol.

And the night wrapped up with the karaoke party at EDGE nightclub. Everybody had so much fun that I don’t think my words can accurately portray it. It’s more accurately displayed with the photos below by Antonio Abrego. You can check out all of his photos from the series on the RIU flickr library.
