Run It Up Reno wrapped up its first weekend on Sunday after completing one of the busiest days on the schedule. There were three trophies awarded and the $440 Mini Main Event became the first event ever live streamed on Twitch.
There were 16 players that returned for Day 2 of the Mini Main Event and by the end of the day, local Reno grinder and construction company owner Bill Casey emerged victorious over the 262-entry field. After making a deal three-handed, Casey defeated Dick Hanley heads-up and won $19,120.
The entire day’s action was live streamed on Twitch at RunItUp.tv on a three-hour delay and there was an assortment of Team RIU pros that were in and out of the commentary booth to provide analysis of all of the action.

Mini Main Event Final Table
The day started with three streamers in the field, but after Matt Staples and Ben Spragg busted in 11th and 10th place, respectively, Felix Schneiders was the only streamer to make the final table. Schneiders busted in eighth and took home $2,110.

The other two events were the $235 black chip bounty event and the $125 no-limit hold’em partner event. Andrew Hurst defeated the 297-entry field to earn the title and $7,520.
The partner event was one of the most fun events on the schedule. While tag team events are generally more lighthearted than other events, this one had another wrinkle to it – a costume contest. The team with the best costume earned an entry into the Platinum Pass freeroll.
Heather Hardie and Isaac Leong won the entry by playing the tournament dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. They also finished third in the event for $1,230.

The room was filled with great costumes ranging from Don Cherry and his cat, Maverick and Iceman from Top Gun, dinosaurs, and Willy Wonka.

More great costumes from the partner event
If you tuned in to the Mini Main Event live stream, you could see the madness of the partner event in the background. Look close enough and you might even be able to find Run It Up’s own Jesse Fullen. Excuse me, I meant Waldo.
At the end of the day, it was still a poker tournament and someone had to win it. It was one of the newest additions to Team RIU who took home his first trophy. Ricky Guan teamed up with Brian Sherrier to top the 114-team field and win $2,810. They didn’t take part in the costume contest, but they didn’t need to since they earned Platinum Pass freeroll entries for their victory.
The tournament area was packed wall-to-wall from noon to midnight, but if for some reason, someone was looking to get out of the room, there was a rake-free Taiwanese poker cash game hangout downstairs in the poker room.
Speaking of Taiwanese poker, Monday sports the first of two Taiwanese poker tournaments with a $125 Taiwanese poker event getting underway at 5 p.m.
