Run It Up Reno is centered around having fun, but we also like to give back as well. The ALL IN for Childhood Cancer Charity event gets underway tonight after the Turkey Burger Welcome Party.

Cards get in the air at 7 p.m. and many of the Team RIU pros will be in the field taking part in the festivities. All of the RIU warriors are encouraged to take part in the charity event as well and pony up the $160 buy-in to help support the Northern Nevada Children Cancer Foundation.

If you’re too stuffed after the turkey burgers to sit and play a tournament, there are still other ways that you can donate to the cause and enjoy yourself in the process.

During the event, if you buy anything from the Run It Up store, located just at the bottom of the escalators from the tournament area, half of all the profits earned during the tournament will be donated to the foundation. You can add to your collection of RIU gear and donate to a good cause at the same time.

We will also be raffling off five seats into the Platinum Pass freeroll at the end of the series. You can buy tickets for the raffle either in the tournament area or at the RIU store. All of the proceeds raised from the raffle will be donated to the foundation.

RIU is also running an auction to partner with either Chris Moneymaker, Kevin Martin, Jeff Gross or Jaime Staples for the $125 Partner event on Sunday, October 21. While not directly associated with the charity event, the money raised from the winning bids will go directly to the same foundation.

It’s cocktail attire for tonight’s charity event. If you plan on playing, please try and dress as nice as possible, but we understand that most poker players don’t pack much besides t-shirts and hoodies. If you do plan on participating, you will start with 2,000 in tournament chips, there are 15-minute levels and there are $50 rebuys and late registration open until the start of level 5, which gives you until about 8 p.m. to get into the action.
