With level 8 coming to an end, registration is nearing a close in the final mixed game event of the series. Sean McCormack is in the field with more than double his stack, which is fitting since few people have done more for small-stakes mixed games than McCormack.

McCormack is the Director of Poker Operations at the Aria in Las Vegas. Since he took over in 2016, he has promoted small-stakes mixed cash games in the room and has started to promote non-hold’em tournaments in the room as well.

This past summer during the Aria Poker Class, he had a hand in adding eight-game mix, Omaha hi-lo, triple draw mix (2-7, a-5, badugi), no-limit 2-7, HORSE, OE and triple stud all with a $470 buy-in. He also promotes mixed cash games as small as $4/$8 with a miniscule rake at his home casino.

McCormack is seated at a table with Andy Pokrivnak and one of the voices of the Stones Gambling Hall live stream, Justin Kelly. They are sharing drinks and laughs and are one of the more boisterous tables in the tournament area with Pokrivnak wearing a Viking helmet and shouting ‘NORSE!’

If you follow McCormack on social media, it’s clear that his table draw and good times in the $125 NORSE are just a continuation of his entire time at the Peppermill.
