2-7 Triple Draw
Chris Moneymaker limps in on the button and Joe Brindle checks his option in the big blind. Brindle took three and Moneymaker drew two.
After the first draw, Brindle checks and Moneymaker bets. Brindle check-raises and Moneymaker calls. Brindle stands pat and Moneymaker takes two.
After the second draw, Moneymaker checks, Brindle bets, Moneymaker check-raises, Brindle makes it three bets and Moneymaker caps it, all in for about 450,000. Brindle pats.
“Damnit,” says Moneymaker, who then draws one.
Brindle quickly tables 7-6-4-3-2 and Moneymaker immediately mucks his hand before he gets his discard.
“I was trying to get you to break something,” says Moneymaker with a smile. “You weren’t breaking anything with a number two.”
Brindle wins the pot and the title just a day after his friend Adam Owen won the $125 win the button event. Brindle scores $8,155 for his win and Moneymaker walks away with $5,400 for his runner-up finish.
