$125 No-Limit Hold’em Win the Button
Level 3: 100/200 with a 25 ante
Entries: 190
Players Remaining: 176
It’s just the third level of the $125 win the button event, but there is one table in the front of the room that features a murderer’s row of poker players.
Andrew Neeme, Matt Staples, and Ricky Guan are all Team RIU ambassadors and seated next to each other in seats 1-3, respectively. As if the table needed to get any tougher than that, one of the original poker superstars is on their direct left with Kathy Liebert in seat 4.
Liebert’s presence in the event is a clear sign to the growing popularity of the Run It Up Reno series. She has over $6.2 million in career tournament earnings and has been a fixture in the poker world for over two decades, with recorded cashes dating back to the mid-’90s.
It’s a classic case of the new school meeting the old school. While Neeme’s main focus are live cash games, Staples and Guan are among the new breed of tournament pros. They are just starting out building their live resume, having focused more on their online play and creating content on Twitch.
Regardless of who emerges from the table with a big stack, it’s clear that the chips at this table won’t be easy to come by. All four of them are still right around their starting stack after a couple levels of play.
