You might recognize Ryan Schoonbaert in the field.  Schoonbaert has been playing poker for about six years and has been streaming online for the past year. Although it is still recent, he is already crushing his streams and might be winning a platinum Pass to PCA. He is in the finalists of Jaime Staples’ ultimate sweat and also in the streamers’ contest Jason Somerville is holding. We were lucky enough to chat with him on break and find out how it all started.

”I’m really good friends with Kevin Martin, and about a year ago we did a 10 days challenge on his stream and I fell in love with it.”

Schoonbaert managed to accomplish three goals for Jaime Staple’s ultimate sweat and none of them were easy.

”For the ultimate sweat, I lost weight. I lost about 40 pounds. I also put it 600 hours of streams in a matter of three months; and I had a profit in my angle. It was tough. It was very hard in the beginning, trying to be healthy. It takes a lot of time to cook, stream, and all that stuff. But towards the end, it kind of became a nice routine.”

Regardless of the outcome, Schoonbaert is happy with the challenge and what he has achieved:

”Regardless of the win it was just a great challenge. They were all goals that I wanted to do, so regardless of the outcome, it was a great challenge and it was a lot of fun.”

Lastly, we asked Schoonbaert what he thought about Run It Up, and this is what he had to say:

”It’s my first Run It Up Series. I wanted to make the last one but unfortunately some things came up. I’m super excited I get to make this one. I’m having so much fun. It’s pretty much just like a home game at the casino. Everyone is so friendly, you get to know so many people.”
