“Okay, you guys talked me into it,” says Dwight Ross as he raises to 6,000 from under the gun.

“I think you had already decided,” says Patrick Tardif. “I don’t think we talked you into it.”

Action folds all the way around to Tardif in the big blind, who calls. The flop is [Jd][6c][5s] and both players check to the [6d] turn. Tardif checks and Ross bets 5,500. Tardif calls.

The river is the [4s] and Tardif checks for a third time. Ross bets 13,000 and Tardif goes into the tank for a couple minutes.

“At least the reporter is here,” says Tardif. “So, you have to show. That’s mandatory. At least I have that going for me.”

There is a little bit more banter before Tardif folds and Ross wins the pot. Ross, already with two final tables and a win this series, is one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Dwight Ross – 205,000
Patrick Tardif – 91,000
