The second day at Run It Up Reno welcomed more players and featured the first of many mixed games to be played throughout the week.

At Noon, the $235 No-Limit Hold’em Knockout $100 Bounty event began and attracted a record-breaking 234 entries. The prize pool ballooned to $21,996 paying out 24 spots. The top prize paid out $6,031 and went to Dwight Ross from California. He was on a brief break from playing tournaments and this was his first event after his hiatus. Ross took the whole thing down, defeating Nick Kiley heads-up. Impressively, Kiley finished as runner-up for the second night in a row here in Reno. Did we mention just two days are in the books so far? Wow!

Notable players to make the money in this event included Ryan Carter (3rd), Gus Pasquella (5th), Paul Sampson (9th), Patrick Tardiff (11th), and Team PokerStars Pro Kevin Martin (22nd).

Later in the evening was the much-anticipated H.O.R.S.E event, the first of many mixed games to be played this week! With a buy-in of $125, the field was ready to gamble and brought in yet another record-breaking 154 entries. The prize pool totaled $14,938 and paid out 24 spots.

The final table was stacked and brought Kim Stone and our host Jason Somerville together for a heads-up battle. Both players had one RIU trophy each, with JCarver starting heads-up play with 1,100,000 to Kim’s 400,000. A few good Razz hands for Kim turned things around and JCarver found himself on the ropes. In the final hand playing Stud 8, Kim made a pair of sevens and a low to scoop the pot against JCarver’s pair of fours. Kim locked up her second trophy after taking down the N.O.R.S.E. tournament in October and denied the top RIU Warrior the win.

Notable players to make it deep in the H.O.R.S.E. event included Chris Nutter (4th), Chip Tutu (5th), Jake Rosentiel (8th), Ryan Leonis (10th), Andrew Barber (14th), Joe Rando (18th), Vincent Newland (20th), and Aaron Schoch (21st).
