As is tradition at Run It Up Reno, the series kicked off on Monday with the ever-popular Turkey Burger Welcome Party and it was another success!
The festivities began at 5:00 p.m. local time and all tournaments paused for some grub. The line-up stretched as far as the bar, which was on the opposite side of the room.
Jason Somerville was spotted with his traditional-style turkey burger with cheese and bread, while Jeff Gross took a more “clean” approach with protein and veggies. Kevin Martin also went clean, creating a mock-up of Twitch Streamer Arlie Shaban, making a beard and hair out of greens. Pablo Ortiz built himself a two-tiered turkey burger with all the fixings, and Jesse Fullen had his burger with a side of cookies and pie.
All in all, the welcome party was a success and players fueled up to return to the tables to close out the opening day. Some players were still in the Kickoff while others went back to fighting it out for a Main Event seat in the satellite. The rest of the players looked to jump into the All in or Fold event for the second tournament of the day.
